Nice album titile; Bibinii. Hmm! Let’s see how it sounds like. Wow! Track one (Bibinii) has a lot of energy, nice arrangement and it’s got tinny on it. Kwabena means business.
Okay let’s move on. Oh! My God, this song is just awesome, “Dadie Anomaa” very nice, starts on a low tempo, some cool highlife rhythm then getting to the end the rhythm changes and the tempo rises. I can’t wait to see how Djs will use it at events. If you choose to play it as part of the cool selection, it rises at the end and if u want to make it part of the hot ones, it starts really slow and I’m dying to see how the public will dance to it. I guess we will do ball room for all those three and a half minutes and then do highlife at the end.
I love this creation and I don’t remember the last time I heard something like that in Ghana; that’s if I’ve ever heard anything like that. Let’s move on…
Looks like Kwabena really want’s to get us on the dance floor this time around, because
Track 1 was high tempo, 2 had a lift in tempo at the end and 3 is high tempo. But I think the rhythm for track one, bibinii and track 3 “My Baby” are far too similar. Well I’m not saying it’s a sin to do songs with one rhythm on the same album but this one sounds too similar and track 1 and 3 should have been a lil more separated since they are so similar in style.
Track 4; “Jealousy” nice song ; nothing to scream about. Just okay, very danceable though.
Track 5; I love the way Kwabena used his voice on this on, very smooth, excellent strings and the drum work is tight and matured. Nice one for the lovers!
The sixth song is really good one. Francophone and hot: “obi ne yem”
I think I’m in love with track 7. It’s a very nice piece. Bibinii(reggae) personally, I think it’s a littile more matured than the original. Kaywa’s drumming is really wicked. whaaaaaat! You should here this.
Track 8 is “ill”. Abgaja style featuring the Rap Doctor. It is very creative and different. I bet you have never heard anything like this. Track title “meretwen wo”. Okyeame Kwame really nailed it as he mostly does.
And track 9 is an instrumentation of Abotare. All in all, Kwabena’s “Bibinii” is Just Great and worth every penny and time. Congrats man, you did a great Job. And hey did I mention that the album cover is off the chain? Yes it is.
